Meet q'uintessential everyone! Here he is not long after his castration (thank you everyone at horsholm clinic for doing such a great job and to Thomas Dresler for organizing it all!).
I'm really excited to introduce him to you all since he is one we bred out of my old mare (he is her 3rd baby and the only one we kept). My mare helped me through my junior years and was a huge opportunity for me since she was previously a very successful grand prix mare! She unfortunatly had an injury that meant she could only do the kiddie stuff i was doing and then became our sweet broodmare! She was family to us.
Q'uintessential is the 3rd baby of my mare, Corlette. He is by Quarterback and the last baby from my mare. It broke my heart to hear devastating news a few weeks ago that she lost a colic battle and unfortunately her and the foal she was carrying did not make it. I cried telling Q'uintessential his momma passed...
ps. Need help finding a suitable nickname for him... his name takes so long to write!
He is currently at Thomas Dresler's stable (yes i had a number barn break him in) and they have done such a great job with him! He is so sweet, kind, quiet and LOVELY to ride! I sat on him the other day and what a dream! I could canter him for days! I couldn't wish for a sweeter young horse (except maybe to grow a little bit more).
i hope to get some videos of me riding him soon before he starts his summer holiday in the fields!
i love all different ages, levels and styles of horses! I Can't wait to grow my team!
I cant believe its finally out! Thank you so much Noelle Floyd Style for coming out to film me and "What's in My Tack Trunk"! It's such an honour to be included among other top riders in this very educational collection of videos! I hope you guys enjoy this video and maybe find some cool tips and product ideas! Hopefully my voice isn't too shaky from my nerves!! :(
If you scroll down below the video, I have written some of the products I showed in my tack trunk as well as links. Hope its helpful! :)
As we sit here during the break, waiting for the final round of the FEI World Cup Showjumping Final, I can't help but reflect on what a phenomenal winter season my team and I have had! Here's a little background on the season and some photos and links :)
Back when I arrived in Wellington in November, I brought both my older GP horse Ive had for a couple years, and my new horse whom I had only been with for barely a month at the time. To be honest, I had no idea if, how, and when I would be comfortable with my new GP ride and almost 5 months later, Im still not very comfortable with him 100% of the time, but we have grown and come together so much these past few months in Florida.
This may have been an off week from showing, but the boys were working hard in front of a camera for a photoshoot for K9 Horse Sweden competition grooming products! And not just any camera btw! The camera of the fabulous Philippa Davin of PD fine art!! She is amazing and this was an unforgettable opportunity to work with an incredible artist.
This week, during the CDI*5 and CDI*3, we were stabled with some lovely people who gave me a great idea (well, I say great now but we'll see how everyone likes it!) to feature a different product or brand that I use and explain a little bit about it. A sort of "My Favourite Things" piece which really should be "Things I Can't Live Without" piece!
I got asked a lot about the different things I use on my horses, what it does, if i like it, etc etc... so why not write it down and share with everyone!?
Click below on "Read More" to find out which ACAVALLO pads I use on which horses, why I use them, and what I like about them!
